Women & Energy is a nonprofit organization which supports and empowers women in the energy industry (engineers). I worked with the Founder to establish the brand, design the identity and design posters, displays and the website, mobile tickets and entry passes for industry events.

The client wanted the logo to include the silhouette of a woman and the Letters M&E which mean Mujer y Energia (‘Women & Energy’ in Spanish). I found a succinct way to bring all elements together for the Master Logo, while also creating a symbol – the women holding the globe – as a Brand Icon that can be used where the logo isn’t required.

ENERGY

Designed for Women

Engineering is historically dominated by men. And with some research I realized a data gap in the industry. All equipment is often designed to the size of the average person but that person is always assumed to be a man so the default equipment is usually too big and clunky.

This is a data point many people don’t think about, and so I created a series of branded safety equipment to help act as both a conversation piece and also something which makes women feel like they belong.

The average woman is 15-20% smaller than the average male. But much of the Energy Industry is still designed with men in mind. And so we want to redesign the industry to be more inclusive - which starts with the helmets, glasses and vests.
